A Few Words About Me
My name is Taras. I'm 29. I live in a provincial town in Western
Ukraine.
I finished high school, and then worked at a plant, after that
entered the institute. My life was just the same as the life of
other boys. But I wanted something different, some changes. And
I joined UNA-UNSD (Ukrainian National Army - Ukrainian Self Defence).
My life began to twirl and whirl. We were fighting with the police
and only God know with whom not, were going with flags and torches,
were taking the floor at different meetings, were sticking up
the sleeping, not guilty at all, town with leaflets. We wanted
to make a revolution. As you can see we weren't successful. But
the impression remained for the rest of my life. And the lung
disease with what I've spent eight months in hospital and the
certainty that our police is the best in the world remained as
well. And one more thing: treason is the cause of time.
Do I regret that I've spent all those six years like that? Probably,
I don't. The organization has acquainted me with a lot of interesting
people and taught me a lot as well.
Then I worked as a teacher in the village, forgotten by God.
Afterward I worked in my hometown, in Gymnasium - I create books
for the students. Then I worked at the huge plant near Lviv. And
now I work as an engineer in Poland.
I am just the average town-dweller. I stop fighting against authorities,
regime, dull and ordinary life. Probably, because I became dull
and ordinary myself. But I'm satisfied with such development of
events. After all, from the point of view of eternity, not so
much life is before me. And as experience proves, initiative people
are punished. That's why those years, that God gave me, I want
to live quietly watching the world's developments on the monitor's
screen.
